3.5

The book shifts between the narrator's romantic & sexual desires and macabre thoughts about his suffering and existence. The repetitive imagery combined with the narrator's shifting moods, offers a fresh experience each time. BUT, the second part of the book felt less imaginative than the first, and I didn’t like how the conjecture between the two parts seemed to fall apart.
