Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

5.0

If you know me, then you know I have a morbid curiosity. I love true crime and ghost stories and really anything dark. So when I heard about this book I had to read it, and I was not disappointed! I don't think you have to be interested in that sort of thing to like this book either. It was so fascinating and the author would end an interesting story about what happens when someone is an organ donor or how cadavers are prepared for a funeral with a joke to lighten the tone. It wasn't completely about modern procedures either. There was an entire section about how experiments with dead bodies have advanced medical science or failed to advance anything in some cases. If you are overly squeamish then you probably shouldn't read this book (it is very descriptive) but, if you are even mildly interested in what happens to us after we die then I'm sure you'll find this book interesting!
