Burning the Midnight Oil by Ashley James

3.0

3.5/5. I enjoyed this book, but I didn't love it as much as the first two. I liked Boone. He seems like a great dad and a good person. I enjoyed Grady, who was sweet and kind and a little lost. I didn't really see much in them together. I love that Grady had a crush on Boone forever. That was sweet. However, I never really saw Boone's feelings change. All of the sudden, they just had. It felt a little forced. There was also a lot about Jade, which made it a little uncomfortable having Grady and Boone together, especially with her in the house. I loved Suzy and how great Boone and Grady were with her. This was a fun read and a good addition to the series, but so far my least favorite.

Notes: 2/5 spice levels, single dad, divorced mc, age gap, ex wife's brother (sister's ex-husband), possessive mc, forbidden, cowboy/photographer, forced proximity
