Not a lot happens in the first half of this book and while this book in general gives some information about Shine as an organization and the people involved in it, I don't think it's important enough to the macro plot of the series to really feel like a super interesting book.

I liked the couple but it's not my favorite. With that said, the last part of this book almost made me cry, they were in an impossible situation, I was absolutely devastated for them, and I appreciated the emotional stakes at the end.
