A Hunger Artist by Franz Kafka

5.0

this is literally one of the best short stories ever made. it shows the all-too human pursuit of excellence and dedication and how that could end up being poisonous in the long run. it's particularly touching, considering that i heavily relate to the theme of such a pursuit. it may not be for everyone, but it's particularly striking to those who may find themself in the figure of the eponymous hunger artist.
