The highly anticipated 5th entry to The Stormlight Archive. I was very excited to read this. I was hoping it would improve upon some of the failures of Rhythm of War, but alas, and this is hard to say as a Sanderson and SA fan, this was not the case. This book felt like a fan fic of the series. There was WAY too much "I feel like this and that's okay" moments. Its fine sparingly, but not every chapter, every character. They felt like caricatures of who they used to be. This book should have been called Therapy and Truth instead. Things don't pick up until the 9th day. The 10th day was the best part of the book, but even then it was a bit underwhelming, sadly. This book felt REALLY YA. Way more than the others. Very disorientating. I'm really hoping Sanderson takes notes from the criticisms and improves upon them for book 6 which will come out around 2031, 6 years later. Lots of time. Here's to the future of this great series.
