RE-READ!
it's been 4 years since I've read this masterpiece of a series, and I recently rewatched the movies so I decided it was time to revisit these books. now I must start off saying that since it is a re-read I must be biased. but I will try to add some of my original thoughts from my 9 year old brain.

harry potter. an absolute loser of a child actually turns out to be a child prodigy with magical powers that he never knew about because his parents are dead, your average story. but what I think might set this apart is that he's not automatically amazing at everything. yes he may be a natural at flying on a broom stick but everything else, he must work for. he gets reprimanded for his wrong doings even though us as the reader know the full story and that he doesn't truly deserve it, it isn't just brushed off cuz "oh its harry potter! he can do nothing wrong!" no, he's held accountable which I love.
and this story isn't just about magic and defeating the bad guy, its about friendship, and love, and standing up for yourself. doing whats right. and I think that's why everyone loves it. at least, I know that's why I love it.

i read this in basically a day bro what

I don't have much else to say, but if you are skeptical about reading this, I truly recommend you do.
