Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig

4.5

I didn’t review the first book because it was a lot of world building and a very slow start, yet at the same time felt rushed. This one was an excellent continuation and end of the duology; lots of action, increased pace, and a very satisfying way of wrapping up all the loose ends. I enjoyed the dynamic between the Nightmare and Elspeth, and with the context we get of the King’s relationship with his own children, it meant more than I thought at first. My only complaint is that I wish we’d gotten more books, deeper dives into this world and the characters in it. Very good, satisfying gothic romantic fantasy.
