Dark Archives: A Librarian's Investigation Into the Science and History of Books Bound in Human Skin by Megan Rosenbloom

informative reflective medium-paced

5.0

I would highly recommend this to anyone who's interested! There was so much more nuance and introspection than I expected, and Rosenbloom did a great job of fitting a lot of good stuff into not that many pages without it ever feeling rushed. Bonus points for one of the best and truest sentences I've read in a while: "...we can't forget that sometimes rumors are the only dissemination method available to the powerless, and innuendo is the coded speech wherein those in power can allude to the unspeakable."
