The Stranger by Albert Camus
3.5
I... don't know what to think of this one. For majority of the book I did not know or care what happened to any of the characters or the main character to be honest. at the beginning of part 2 I did not care one bit about his fate I just... didn't care and did not see the point of any of it. BUT!! I think that was the point??? maybe???to not care at all just as much as our dull main character...kinda doesn't care.
For the whole first part his whole life and everyone around him are so dull and there's nothing interesting happening until the second part where he commits a crime that none of us know why he did. he doesn't know why he did it. what we do know though is he's being tried in court and is spiraling into an existential crisis of sorts.
this was pretty fun to read despite how much I didn't care. At some point it was even kind of relaxing?? I read afew pages before I read everyday before going to bed (I guess that says more about me than the book lol)
but yes decent book. was not life changing or very reflective so not one id necessarily recommend.
