The Book Haters' Book Club by Gretchen Anthony
3.0
Read The Book Haters' Book Club by Gretchen Anthony
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ or (5.71/10)
Characters - 5
They were eh. I would've liked more backstory on a few of the characters. And they just felt confused and impulsive.
Atmosphere - 6
Not much to say here.
Writing - 6
Not bad, but definitely could've been better. I felt there was a lot of repetition. The interjections from a person I guess was a ghost? followed the pace and storyline, but it also didn't. Quite confusing.
Plot - 5
I understood what the general plot was, but there was so much filler in the book that I kept forgetting what the end goal was :/
Intrigue - 7
The humor and the relatability of a few of the characters in this book really kept me going, tbh.
Logic - 5
As I stated earlier, the characters felt impulsive. And a few of the characters, I didn't find out their true thoughts until being 70% through the book. Also, as mentioned earlier, the writing was quite repetitive, and it just made the logic dissipate.
Enjoyment - 6
It wasn't a bad book, but it definitely wasn't my favorite. I had a lot of hope going into this book, but it didn't turn out the way I was expecting at all. It is an adult book so that sets it off as different from most of the books I read, but it still could've been better imo.
