Valerie: Or, the Faculty of Dreams by Sara Stridsberg
5.0
4.5 stars
The Faculty of Dreams may have broken my heart but it did so in the most beautiful way. I spent the entirety of the novel with my head filled with vibrant images, a lonely house in the desert to the piss soaked hotel sheets I could do with not being so clear an image in my mind.
It made me think on the many injustices of the world and how lucky I have been.
Valerie is a beautiful heartbreaking character with so much confidence and so much pain. I love her with my whole heart.
The writing was so clear and beautiful. I found the story so easy to read, despite the length and devastating topics it was a smooth and easy journey.
