I is Another: Septology III-V by Jon Fosse
5.0
Well....just finished and that was as brilliant as the first book in this incredible series. The description is pretty clear above so I won’t summarise the book. As with the first tho. it is a stream of consciousness with a hypnotic rhythm to it. It both lulls you into a feeling that you have just awoken from a dream and are still in that strange surreal world and at the same time is incredibly real. All at the same time.
Since reading the first book I have thought about how I think things through and how people speak to each other, and the repetition shown in these books is just so lifelike, as is the way we repeat our memories to ourselves so that we make a narrative from them. I am not sure what is real in the book... it is very intriguing
I particularly loved the way Asle describes why he paints and what art means to him.
I am very much looking forward to the next edition of the septology and to be honest I feel a bit lost having finished this. The world just seeped into me and I was held there. I can not wait to continue.
