The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy
5.0
What do i say? I don't know like what to say; this book was soo good istg i don't know how to describe what i am feeling right now.
I was trying soo hard not to cry throughout the book. Not that i don't cry over books, i do all the time but this one was different, it felt real yk? the pain and sadness as if i was going through it or maybe i might go through it someday. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that i have always been scared of a painful death or death in general. And while reading this book i kept telling myself ohh it's just a book so that i don't cry. I don't know but for some reason this book reminded of someone, nvm.
It was an absolutely terrific book. Leo Tolstoy explained it soo beautifully and sadly; the desire to live and the desire to die. Books like these are always going to be top tier.
