The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
4.5
While very straightforward as some reviews stated, The Glass Castle is a fascinating recollection of the author’s life and an interesting view of being raised by troubled parents, challenging living conditions, an unstable life and the bond and love among siblings that helped them survive. It’s interesting to read a story in a way that didn’t hide their parents’ flaws but also didn’t entirely vilify them either. I flew through this book and was entirely invested in knowing how the siblings each turned their lives around at the end. I think this is an important book to read.
