Ellis gives us an interesting genre mash-up that is tense, scary, confusing (in a good way, I think), and grotesque. It's a fast read, especially after you get past the first 25 or 50 pages, which purposefully displace the reader. I'd recommend sticking with it because the pay-off is pretty good.
