Was a good book, and I’m glad I read it. That being said, I’m having a hard time rating it. Somewhere on the range of 3.5-4.25.
The prose was fantastic. Scenes were vivid, and there were some beautiful sentences. Additionally, the consistent use of purple throughout the book was amazing.
As I’ve seen in many of the other reviews, I appreciated Antonio’s story much more than Jaime’s. I understand why Jaime’s was necessary and appreciate what it was aiming to achieve, but for me it did not hit. Antonio’s was amazing, and had me bawling at the end. Also, shoutout to Peter, he has my heart.
Love how this was loosely based off of the authors ancestry!
