If, Then by Kate Hope Day
4.0
Type of read: Commuter Read.
What made me pick it up: The title and cover art were what originally got me and the description is what kept me. I feel like I'm currently in a bad book slump so I'm hoping 'If, Then' doesn't let me down.
Overall rating: Holy mind trip, Batman. 'If, Then' takes you on so many loops and circles, and alternate realities that it's a bit hard to keep up, but you almost don't care because there's not a dull moment (or if there is, you're still trying to figure out what just happened in the preceding pages so you don't really care). There were parts of this book that I had actual physical reactions to with how the writing just pulls you in. I will say, there were portions of the writing that things were just muddy or unclear, or you jumped around from character to character so you weren't quite sure who you were with, but I think that's more the idea behind the book and what was happening than a subpar writing style. Overall, I really enjoyed 'If, Then' and I would recommend it with the caveat of it's a bit messed up and a lot confusing but when the end comes around you'll be like 'whhhhhhaaaaaa????'
