Hell on Wheels by Julie Ann Walker

2.0

Hell on Wheels kind of annoyed me. Okay, it really annoyed me. This book was disappointing and definitely underwhelming in my eyes. I was expecting more since this is the opener for the Black Knights Inc. series.. but

The beginning did get me hooked.. but then it just fell so flat. I didn't really care about what was happening in this book and I also didn't connect to any of the characters. This book is basically about a secret ops team that rides motorcycles.. or whatever. It was weird and I couldn't wrap my head around it or support it. This gang was just filled with so many clichés and again, I couldn't see this as being realistic at all.

I just have one thing that bothered me: THE MOTORCYCLE THING. Okay, so motorcycles aren't quiet.. but then again, most vehicles aren't (unless they are a hybrid). So why would they be a secret ops team that goes on missions with them?!? Meh.

Besides that this book follows Ali and Nate. They have a weird kind of brother sister kind of relationship in the beginning due to the bro code. Then they start to develop feelings for each other or they start to show those said feelings that they've kept hidden. Things start to change from friendship to relationship which I could totally get behind. However, I just did not like Ali and Nate. They were cute and vanilla.. but overall meh and boring.

Overall, I was bored with the main characters and this story. Ali just baffled me when she got all upset about not making Nate cry in all the years she has known him. Nate was just boring to me. I definitely had expectations for this book.. and I have no idea if I'm going to move on to the next one..
