Treat Me, Not My Age: A Doctor's Guide to Getting the Best Care as You or a Lovedone Gets Older by Mark Lachs

5.0

I first found and read this book my final year of college (2012).

As someone who works in the geriatric social services field, I can't say how often I've seen doctors write off their older patients, claiming that their ailments are just due to their age, and there's simply nothing to be done. This is NOT the case. ALL people should receive adequate health care including appropriate screening for symptoms, not just those under age 65.

I can't recommend this book enough to those who wonder about why/how the health care industry treats older folks the way it does. We can all be a part of change for the better. :)
