Specters of Marx: The State of the Debt, the Work of Mourning and the New International by Jacques Derrida
2.5
Derrida likes to focus on people's choice of words and his idea of "deconstruction" is really just a Kabbalah-esque reinterpretation of people's specific word choices without actually trying to find the meaning behind the words, nor caring about it, because it's more about finding how many possible ways you can put nonexistent hidden meanings into places where they never were. It's just a schizophrenic hyperfocus on specific details in texts, playing with words instead of reading them. He's a good example for why when you read things you should be looking for the author's intent, not superficial things like what specific words they used and how you can play games with them. At least he tore apart Fukuyama and pointed out some flaws in Western capitalism but that's pretty easy for anyone to do and obvious to anyone with a brain.
