Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T. Sullivan

5.0

As a novel it is a poignant, powerful narrative of war, humanity, courage and the evil that mankind is prepared to do unto others. But then you remember it is based around the real life experience of Pino Lella and the story takes on a further level of complexity and astonishment. One man's painful tragic war experience and his heroic part in one of the least known aspects of WWII, the Nazi occupation of Italy.
Superbly written amd deserving of an extraordinary man.
