this is easily a 5 stars read for me. banana yoshimoto’s insight into grief is simplistic and yet deeply profound. it was short indeed but there was so much said and so much to learn in these two short stories. kitchen definitely tops moonlight shadow for me but i still loved both of them. a must-read for everyone!!!
