Kate Moore has exceptionally written a captivating and gripping narrative of the true lives of the radium girls. These women were at the mercy of horrible businessmen and corporations who only saw them as risks of furthering their financial gain. The fight these women went through for decades was so unjust, cruel, inhumane, and down right despicable, but they never stopped fighting and it’s tragically inspiring. I’m beyond amazed at how Moore was able to capture the true story of these women, I felt like I was walking beside them — I became emotional & enraged to their losses, pain, and unfair treatment.
This was a 6 star read for me (off the charts)! That’s something that hardly happens when I pick up a nonfiction but I just know that the lives and fight of the radium girls is something that I won’t forget and will recommend to anyone!
