Everless by Sara Holland

5.0

I received a copy of this via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sara Holland is a genius. Her world building and characterisation is rich, powerful and breathtaking. This story follows a young woman on her journey to save her father only to discover a secret hidden in the very fabric of time itself.

Jules goes to Everless to free her father from the wrath of an endless debt that's stripped him of his years in order to protect her from the pure cruelty of Sempera; a land that's ruled by the consumption and selling of time. No-one knows how much time they possess until it's gone. For some it's minutes, others years but for Jules time moves differently, almost as though it never really touches her. With the aid of friends in unsuspecting places Jules gets further and further to the truth leaving death wherever she goes. Will Jules ever conquer her gifts and free those bound by her ultimate nemesis? I hope so.

This dystopian novel had so many twists, turns and hidden surprises that I just could not put this book down. An outstanding beginning with unbridled potential. A great read for anyone seeking out the next best young adult novel by a brilliant authoress.

I am literally obsessed with this brand new world and it's curious backward ways stuck in ancient myth and legend, and cannot wait to see just where Sara Holland is going to take this story. I am so hoping to see Jules return to her true self - her original self.

If I could rate this more than five stars, I would.
