Reverse by Kate Stewart

The intelligence of this story and passion for music is addicting. Easton is the musician we wish all the greats to be. Making the music as an extension of their being, a form of personal expression, not a sell out to appease the masses. Easton is so much like his dad it is uncanny. His brutal honesty, his lack of patience for anyone who tries to hide their truths.. he’s a no nonsense man. How he falls for Natalie, how she becomes his whole world, how he becomes the softest of men with her.. is so beautiful to read and see happen.

Natalie still seems to be trying to find her place in the world but has this beautiful innocence about her that is endearing. She seems to be fighting so hard to fit into the life she expects, that she’s been missing out on the life she craves. She has the most growth in my opinion, at times I was so frustrated with her thoughts and decisions that seemed to be made based on what she THOUGHT others wanted/expected from her.

Are there areas of this book that are slow or drawn out? Yes. But the delivery is worth it, it is Kate Stewart at her best. I think another thing people comment on is Kate’s common use of the love triangle in her books. I would say that this book differs from Drive & even the Ravenhood series in this regard.

For my spice lovers, this is definitely a book with spice vs. a spicy book, but the spice present is VERY good. The lead up to the first scene is filled with tension and almost moments that are SO good!

I do think it’s a good idea to read Drive first, there are many reminders of Drive in this book, so without reading, you’d have no context to why those are important.
