Where the Drowned Girls Go by Seanan McGuire
3.0
A few minutes into this, I remembered that I'd planned to do a full reread of the series before I started this book, but I'd already started it, so it'll have to wait for the next one. And I'm sure there's going to be a next one, considering the mystery of the Whitethorn Academy. I can't imagine they'd let that go.
Regarding this book; I liked it. I like that we follow Cora and get to see how she deals with everything that happened in the Moors. I also liked that we got to see the Whitethor Academy, as I've been curious about it for a while now.
As always, well written and an interesting world/premise. I catch myself being jealous of the kids who finds a door, and of Cora who's hair grows out blue. I feel most like myself when my hair is green or blue, but it's such a hassle to dye, especially when you don't have the health to keep it nice and dye it regularly.
There's a lot of things I like about this book and this world, and I think it would easily have been a 4 stars if not for my depression. Even now, I'm considering kicking it up that last star, but that doesn't feel right atm either. Oh well. Maybe on my reread.
