I fell in love with Ethic. He did something so bad and yet I’m rooting for Alani to forgive him. If an author can make you fall in love with a character that committed a heinous crime, they did their job. I also feel like his crime is justified though because he has to protect his family. It was a roller coaster!! If not for the r*pe scene, I would read this over and over again. I hate books that depict graphic rape scenes. I feel like you can get the point across without going into details. That’s why it’s not a 5 Star. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! Currently reading book two!
