Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
4.0
I loved the writing in this book, I really felt the distress of the main character, and was especially impressed with how distant the fancy dress ball felt. I thought the author's choice to describe in detail fantasies the main character was having, whether good or annoying or terrifying, was a really effective tool for the reader to identify so strongly with the main character's feelings. I couldn't put the book down I needed to know what happened! I gave it 4 stars because I was slightly dissatisfied with the ending.
