Vow of Moonlight by Morgana Stewart

5.0

"It was just beginning, but I know endings better than anyone."

"Everything comes back to you, love. I am watching you, I am waiting for the ending to this story."

I love when an author knows exactly what I wish for in a novel. I especially love when said author knows how to correctly use the plus-que-parfait in english. An ICON for that. Also, I can appreciate a prologue that is less than a page--backstory, but not too much that I'm bored before I've begun.

Okay. Omg. these characters? Literally every single one is iconic. And the story? Heartbreaking, bittersweet, and hauntingly beautiful. Not just one of romance, but of friendships and bonds. It reminds me of Goblin in the way that my heart is entirely empty and I will never emotionally recover.

"There could be no goodbye between loved ones; it simply wasn’t possible when hearts were connected in such a way. In memory, we’d never leave each other."

"Perhaps there was life even when the love story had ended. Perhaps I would live in the inky words and unwritten sentences of an epilogue."

If you hadn't gathered it, there is plenty of prose and beautiful quotes to be found within this book. I am looking forward to highlighting and annotating my physical copy when it's released. Safe to say this might be one of my favorite books of the entire year.

(Thank you to Morgana Stewart, who graciously allowed me to read an arc copy of VOM. I undoubtedly am looking forward to ordering a final copy on the day it comes out.)
