Ronin: A Visions Novel by Emma Mieko Candon
Did not finish book. Stopped at 22%.
I just couldn’t get into it. I barely understood the story because the writing was so full of purple prose. I had to read each paragraph 2-3 times to get it.
The setting doesn’t help either. It’s like the author took words from Star Wars and put them in a Japanese sci-fi world. The problem with that is that you lose all context. The Jedi and Sith made no sense as depicted.
I already wasn’t a huge fan of Visions, so maybe fans of that specific episode in the series will like it better. Unfortunately it’s a no for me.
