Agatha Raisin and the Potted Gardener by M.C. Beaton

3.0

Penelope Keith is back and I am buzzed! She is by far a fantastic narrator, and perfect for these light and airy mystery novels of M.C. Beaton's. In this third instalment, Agatha is back and is once again scrabbling to gain the attention of James Lacey, her handsome neighbour as he flirts with the glamorous Mary Fortune, a new resident to Carsley, who helps run the local gardening club.

I was definitely rooting for Agatha as she partnered up with James Lacey to find the culprit, whilst trying to salvage her garden using ex-PA Roy Silver and a series of ridiculously tall fences. As Agatha and James get closer, it's clear to see through the writer's use of foreshadowing how she feels about this duo, and where she sees their relationship developing in her future books.
