Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life...And Maybe the World by William H. McRaven
2.0
What's it about?
It's an expansion of a commencement speech given by a United States admiral (for the SEALs?). It has 10 pieces of advice, mostly drawn from his time in SEAL training. Besides making your bed, another of the pieces of advice is "Sometimes you just end being a sugar cookie". A sugar cookie is the state that SEAL trainee's would find themselves in after an instructor found a fault in their uniform and ordered them to roll in the sand, wet.
What did I think?
I was intrigued by the idea of how small habits can instill discipline and a sense of control. But there wasn't too much of that here. Just typical pieces of advice dressed up in a colorful metaphor with some supporting stories. It's a short book.
