I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

dark inspiring sad fast-paced

4.5

Marketing this book as "hilarious" is a wild choice. Sure, there are humorous bits. But they are mostly the author winking at the horrific trauma she endured, which does not let up, chapter after chapter.

That said, the book is scintillating (child stars and the crazy things they go through are a morbid fascination of mine) and is an excellent first person perspective on eating disorders and narcissistic parents.
