This was a short prequel novella, following the teens as they played out a murder mystery game’s plot at a party.
It seems to be standalone, all mentions of the murders from the main series were just to set the scene for those novels and I don’t feel I saw any spoilers.
I listened to the audiobook on BookBeat as it’s so short and I think the narrator was great at switching up character voices.
There were some slang, jokes and language style that came off a bit juvenile but I think I still liked this little taster enough to go on to read the main books in the series now.
