I appreciate what Richter was trying to do with this by painting a more sympathetic portrait of Native Americans in the '60s when writers were starting to question America's monolithic History, but I bristled a bit at some of the misogyny and stereotypical language. It left me wondering how accurate a depiction of Native American culture is this.
