Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
4.0
I really shouldn't have started my Colleen Hoover journey with verity because it was the worst one I've read so far and made me so apprehensive about reading her other books even though they are amazing.
The only reason this didn't get a 5 star was because I was dissapointed with the lack of sadness and toxicity that was in this book considering how much booktok seems to play these factors up. It's no where near as sad as It Ends With Us but I had gone in with those expectations so I didn't love it as much.
Colleen Hoover has the weirdest writing style and sometimes some of the sentences that she writes have me oggling at the page in shock but I seem to find her books so easy and quick to consume that I don't mind it as much as some people.
I really enjoyed Miles and his complexity and seeing the two timelines kept the book fun and fresh. I didn't enjoy one time line more than the other, I found them both to be fascinating and therefore felt engaged throughout.
