Here's the thing. I have no idea what happened in this book, really. And I had to stop listening to the audiobook about 70% of the way through because the unreality got too intense and started triggering my dissociation etc. So in the month+ of waiting for the ebook to come off hold....I lost whatever thread I had. But somehow, despite that... compelled me. I will be reading the next book.
