Parker by Jillian Quinn
5.0
I voluntarily read and reviewed an eARC of this book!! All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
Parker is a hockey romance told in dual POV from Charlotte (Coach) Coachmen and Alex Parker. Even though it took me 3 days to finish this book I only spent about 6 hours or so actually reading it so I could have easily read it in one sitting if I didn't have a life to get back to making this a pretty quick read. This was my second book by this author (Corrupt Me) being the first one. I wouldn't say I liked this one better than Corrupt Me even though I gave them both 5 stars.
Starting this book I was a little skeptical about reading a sports romance because I am not into sports of any kind, however, I was pleasantly surprised with it. Jill didn't go into to much detail about the sports side of it making me love it even more. I loved both of the main characters. Coach is a strong female lead who can take care of herself and has been pretty much her whole life. Alex is the sexy hockey player (enough said) LOL. Ever since his dad passed a way six months ago he is best known as a screw up. When Alex gets traded to another team and him and Coach meet face to face for the first time neither one of them expect to be so drawn to the other. They both end up helping each other with their demons more than they ever knew possible. I love how there is of course steamy romance but there is something so much more emotional going on between them.
There was one thing that kind of bothered me (for lack of a better word). When Alex and Coach finally end up getting together for the first time they have barely done anything and she says "now I can see why girls line up an down the block for a chance with him". I just found that one part a little unbelievable I guess. Like I said he had barely "done" anything to her at this point. Aside from that one little spot I absolutely loved this book.
Jill once again did an amazing job at bringing the book to an end with out any cliffhangers or leaving you with questions but still leaving you wanting more. I can't wait to carry on with this series and to read more of her work.
