Virgin River by Robyn Carr

I enjoyed reading this book - but I didn't actually like the book. The small town aspect was cute and in a lot of ways nice - but it felt too conservative - too old fashioned, anti-feminist, preachy & pro-gun.

I liked Mel and her sister - and how could you not like Jack?! Jack is definitely the highlight of the book. And the romance was fun and well-written. But I felt like Mel ended up not being a strong character in the end, which was a disappointment. I MAY give one of the other books in the series a try b/c I did like the town - but I dunno...

It was decent escapism - but it didn't have enough substance or character development.
