A very fun sci-fi story. I'm no scientist, but I have always been interested in science, and I really loved all the science-talk in this book. It rang true and totally plausible to (the once again, not a scientist) me. I loved that this was a first encounter story, and that the alien did not try to kill the human instantly, or secretly. honestly Rocky and Ryland working together to save the world came off as so wholesome and endearing and really made me fall in love with these characters! I also loved the jumping back and forth in time and felt it really added to the story telling.
