As readers we are supposed to get all the information to be able to solve the crime, but this is nor really the case. We do, however, get hints to it but it  is not really possible to get the whole picture of the crime whithout the detectives explanation. 

SPOILER. We are, for example, unable to guess that one of the characters are are committing fraud. We get hints but not of the kind so it would be possible to know that one of them is secretly stealing from the "company". This just one example.
