I somehow both loved and really disliked this writing style - and that inconsistency made this a tough read to rate. Oftentimes, the prose was far too dense for my liking. I was very intrigued by the story, the fantastic elements, etc. But I felt a bit dropped into it therefore the ending didn't have a huge payoff for me. Not sure if I am a huge dark fairytale person
