These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan

2.0

***POTENTIAL SPOILERS***

I had such high hopes for this book, from the cover to the blurb, it sounded like something I would enjoy.

I felt this book was 200 pages too long. Many of the characters' actions were repetitive, as well as the dialogue. If this had been shortened, I believe I could have enjoyed it a bit more. In short, everyone is a liar and they all feel terribly bad about it, but continue deceiving each other anyways and at the same time all care about each other. The title, at the very least, fits perfectly for the content.

I've read plenty of fae/Elven books and it wasn't until Maas's ACOTAR that they all started to read the same. This is no different. While mate's are not a thing in this book, the bonds and their marks are. I've seen other complain about the similarities between the books and couldn't help but cringe in agreement.

I felt this book had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, it felt flat. There wasn't a single element that made it seem unique.
