He’d come to the Foxhole Court every inch a lie, but his friends made him into someone real.
As with book 1 and 2, I still don’t really know what the heck to say about it. It took me a while to get through this one as I just listened to the first two books too quickly, I think. Doesn’t help that the audiobooks are terrible, lol. I finally got back into it though, and that’s probably because the romance subplot with Neil and Andrew finally kicked in. I knew it wasn’t a proper romance at all, but I was still disappointed after seeing so much fanart of these two together and every review ranting about them and the books. Don’t get me wrong, I liked them together (eventually) and was thoroughly entertained, but it did not live up to expectations.
All I can say after finishing it is: give it a go. I might be one of few who feel kinda ‘meh’ about it, but it’s definitely worth checking out. And, if you do, read the book instead of listening. The narration does not help the story or characters at all. Unless of course you only listen to audiobooks, then maybe find something else to buy, lol.
