Some prompts to guide my journey to find more BIPOC authors of genre fiction who could be new favorites (sci-fi/fantasy, mystery, and romance are my favorite genres so I've highlighted those).  I've noticed that my biases drive me towards people who look and think like I do; I've also noticed the publishing industry doesn't always promote genre fiction by non-white authors. I'm trying to be intentional in choosing diverse stories, not just for any benefit I get from reading them, but also so I can recommend diverse stories to others through my work and other spheres of influence. The very specific prompts are there to encourage me to look beyond translated Japanese fiction (which I already know I love) and to seek lesser-known titles.
