I had forgotten all about this series! The first time I read this book, I was 12 and I had absolutely adored it, but I wanted to see if my feelings would change upon reading it a second time (and this time, in french). I'm happy to say that they didn't!

This was still the fun mystery story that I remember reading, and I'm so glad that I picked it up. I won't be writing a full review for this because I'm lazy but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I mean, there was:
-a half-asian MC, I know, just let that sink in. A half-asian MC in Victorian London.
-a pretty cool mystery, even though a bit predictable at certain points,
-fast paced plot
-a great start to a slow-burning romance....
-great banter
-great side characters (I'm looking at you, James Easton)

I will definitely be continuing with this series.

I think if I was younger I would have devoured this. It was like historical fiction meets Galagher Girls.
After coming back from vacation I thought about dnfing it since I honestly forgot I was reading it, but I gave it one more chance that wasn't in pieces waiting in lines and I enjoyed it. I might pick up the next one, but I'm also really bad with series.

Teen book group chose this for this month. Very clean and cute. A little mystery, a little romance. I liked it fine.

Took me by surprise! Great mystery, romance and historical fiction. Reminded me a bit about The Pink Carnation.

Decent mystery with a strong female lead. The agency is a little farfetched, but Lee does a nice job of keeping the story moving.

Really enjoyed this historic fiction YA mystery - set in Victorian time period, with a female spy protagonist. Enjoyed that it is a diverse offering as well.

A fun read. I don't normally read mystery novels, but a period piece undercover lady detective was too good of a hook not to check out. It was fun. A good way to spend a weekend.

This book was awesome! I loved the gritty Victorian setting, the feistiness of the main character and her banter with the love interest, the mystery that was predictable but still managed to surprise me at the end...definitely looking forward to the next one!
