Kendall is just having the crappiest day ever, she loses her scholarship, boyfriend, and apartment all in the same day. Imagine how you would feel them multiply it times 50 bc it only gets crazier from here!
Omg. I was so wrong about my prediction!! This was the best thriller I’ve read this year. Just straight to the point no BS at all. The modern touch to the influencer making grwm was a great touch & wasn’t cringe at all!! I really enjoyed the twists and turns! Every time I had an idea of what was going on I was completely wrong. I love a thriller that includes fucked up family dynamics & I think it’s bc it makes you realize your crazy family is not crazy after all.
The twist about Cal tho?!!? And then the stepdad WOW. Kendall really is that girl!!!! I will say this was very fast paced and kept me intrigued the entire time. I also really enjoyed the journaling aspect of it all. The dynamic between Kendall and her mom highlights the black experience of mother daughter relationships.
10/10 I would recommend to everyone.

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publish for this eARC of Her Pretty Lies by Angela Henry. This was a fast paced thriller with more layers than an onion! Every single time I thought the twists were over they kept coming until the very end. The story follows Kendall Good and her incredibly bad luck streak at the start of her graduate student year. We see her life fall apart in one afternoon and how when someone is desperate they tend to miss red flags about opportunities too good to be true. This book tackles prison time done for crimes that men were innocent for, social media influencers, and alcoholism. I really enjoyed this thriller and the plot line was unique!!

I enjoyed that I honestly didn't know who "did it" throughout this book - between the twists and the drama, I was left wondering "wait ...what just happened?!" I personally appreciate not being able to guess how a book ends, since I'd rather be surprised and not feel like I knew what was coming. Kendall and Mackenzie are fascinating characters, and although I was hating one throughout the story, I ultimately ended up loving both of them. Kendall fought hard for what she wanted/needed, and I could tell she was going to get to the truth by the end of the novel.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love murder mysteries, and this one lives up to this. The writing is really nice to read, the characters were great and the atmosphere kept me interested en wanted to read more. I did not see the plot twists coming and loves them!

I enjoyed this book. It was well written and kept me in suspense. I wanted to keep reading to know what would happen next. The twists at the end were great and I would recommend it to others.

This was my first book by Angela Henry and I can say I enjoyed it overall. I'd say it was a 3.75/4 for me. There were lots of twists and turns. So many that I don't know how she fit them all in this book lol. I started to get a little confused at the end trying to keep up with all the reveals. I'm sure I missed something in the midst of it all. I will definitely read more of Angela Henry's work.

1.5/5 I was first so excited about this book - it was twisty and the plot moved really fast with an easy and somewhat funny read. Then the plot took a massive downward turn. After about half of the book - the plot really just becomes unbelievable with twists that don’t make any sense at all.
Twins separated at birth? Best friend murdering someone and going to jail? Multiple murders that seemingly had nothing to do with each other then magically were tied back to each other? And to top it all off - the author made up a sleeping medication - idk if this was a legit mess up or naming something that sounded like another drug?
Also - for all the truth revealing that happens in this book literally the main character never finds out who actually pushed her down the stairs?
Idk - it started out good, but skip this book. I’m just angry tbh. This is my first rating lower than a 2
