I appreciate the authors attention to detail, events aren’t just happening, they’re unfolding in front of our eyes as the characters observe their world. Our knowledge grows right along with theirs, we aren’t expected to just believe the characters can do or know something. We’re shown.

A great continuation of the series. I like how Flanagan finds a middle ground between having different villains each book and one ongoing conflict over 10+ books. There's definitely a feeling of continuity, which helps with the sense of character development and building relationships, but the adventures and conflicts never feel overused or boring.
