This book is super 1970's with high saturated pink and orange themed beach illustrations, and very loose beautiful skies. The illustrations were all done in northern California at Trinidad Head, and the landscapes are very recognizable. There's even a unique, detailed border outlining each page-- hardly any surface untouched with ink.

This book poetically takes you through the day with a refrain about a sandpiper. Worth it for the art alone, but it couples nicely with the writing.
